Closing Neil Cabana's The Mountmellick record is Robbie O’Connell’s “The Keg of Brandy,” Neil pays homage to his Irish roots and the long lineage of folk storytellers. It’s a song about memory and the rituals that survive us - shared drinks, shared losses, shared songs. As a final track, it leaves us at the firelight’s edge, just beyond the last note.
